When Ben & Jerry’s added Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough to their non-dairy ice cream line-up, they also launched the Vegan Cookie Dough Chunks from that flavor as their own product! They’re for eating on their own, not baking, but we were okay with that.
In fact, those sweet bites were so popular, that they’ve released a second vegan variety: Cinnamon Bun. Unlike the Chocolate Chip Chunks, this is a limited edition flavor and it doesn’t say “vegan” on the front of the package. We’re not sure why they didn’t include this label, since it is vegan certified. Regardless, we have full details below for each of the Ben & Jerry’s egg-fee, dairy-free dough chunks.
Ben & Jerry’s Vegan Dough Chunks Roll Out in a Second Flavor
The idea of putting cookie dough into ice cream originated with Ben & Jerry’s back in 1984, and it’s the company’s #1 favorite flavor around the world. But according to their Innovation Manager, Jody Eley, Ben & Jerry’s fans have been requesting ‘just the chunks’ for quite a while.
During a short market test in Vermont, fans snatched up the dough in record time. Bags flew off the shelves in mere days and stores could not keep the delicious dough bites in stock! Now, Ben & Jerry’s is rollin’ out the dough to fans across the US.
They have released several varieties of Cookie Dough Chunks, but only the ones listed below are dairy-free and vegan. They all come in similar packaging, so be sure to check the label carefully. Once you try them, come back and leave a rating & review! It helps others make an informed purchasing decision.
